Leadership Coaching Process
Phase I: Assessment and Development Plan for Target Behavior Changes/Enhancements
Timeline: 2 weeks
Outcome:
- Clearly define identified strengths, challenges and opportunities for Behavior Change
- Clearly define outcomes expected from the coaching process
- Identify measurable targets to evaluate success of the coaching process
Components: (may include all or a selection of the following)
- The Highlands Ability Battery
- Review previous performance instruments (e.g. 360 o, reviews, leadership assessments)
- Individual interview 1-2 hours
- Discussion with referring agent (e.g. HR, supervisor)
- Preparation of report to the organization
Phase II: Implementation
Timeline: 3 months
Outcome:
- Behavior changes related to coaching targets
- Awareness and skill development in target behaviors
- Decision-making related to desire to make permanent changes
- Evaluation at the end of the 3 months to determine success of coaching process
Components:
- Two hours per month of individual coaching either in-person or by phone
- Unlimited email access with questions, follow-up, etc.
Phase III: Maintenance
Timeline: 3 months
Outcomes:
- Support and enhance behavior targets
- Establish full integrating behavioral changes into daily habits
Components:
- One hour per month of individual coaching either in-person or by phone
- Unlimited email access
